Parents and Community

Even though Young Life is especially for kids, parents and other adults in the community are an integral part of Young Life! Adults can support Young Life in a variety of ways — by becoming a volunteer leader or committee member, by attending a Young Life fund-raising event, by hosting Young Life or by simply telling others in the community about Young Life and its commitment to kids.

Keeping kids safe

An important part of our committment to kids is how we keep kids safe. Our staff and volunteer leaders know they are responsible for modeling lives of hope and integrity. Young Life's Human Resources department has developed missionwide policies and procedures to ensure that kids are protected when they are with Young Life staff and/or leaders as well as when kids are part of Young Life's sponsored activities.

Answering Your Questions

One commitment our staff has to you as parents and community members is answering any questions you have regarding the ministry of Young Life. Below are a few common questions and answers, but should you have any others, please feel free to contact the office

Q: What is the difference between Young Life and WyldLife?

A: Young Life is geared specifically toward high school students (grades 9-12), while WyldLife is for junior high students (grades 6-8). WyldLife Clubs are held less often than Young Life Clubs and are adapted to take into account the physical, emotional, and social differences between the age groups.

Q: How can my kid get involved in Young Life or WyldLife?

A: Young Life Clubs are held on Mondays during the school year, and WyldLife Clubs are currently not meeting while we pray for leaders! Please contact us for the calendar and upcoming events.

Q: How do you ensure the safety of kids with Young Life leaders?

A: Our Staff and volunteer leaders know they are responsible for modeling lives of hope and integrity. Young Life's Human Resources department has developed mission-wide policies and procedures to ensure that kids are protected. For example, all leaders go through an application and training process, including completion of a required driver's safety training and background checks.

Q: How is your ministry funded?

A: All of our funds are raised locally by individuals and businesses, and all go directly to fund Young Life City of Pearland. If you are interested in helping support Young Life Pearland, please click the "Give" tab at the top of the page.
